Why I Chose to Live in the Countryside

Many people ask me: Why would you choose to live in the countryside?
For me, the answer is simple — peace, family, nature, and a life deeply connected to food, animals, and meaningful daily rhythms. This is the story of why I chose farm life and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

What Truly Makes Me Happy

Living in the countryside brings me a deep sense of calm and happiness. What I love most is the peace, nature, trees, animals, and wide open space. Above all, it is my family. Life here feels slower, more relaxed, and more real.

Our garden and harvest give me joy every single day. Being surrounded by nature allows us to live intentionally and stay connected — to the land and to each other. I was born and raised in the countryside, and this way of life shaped who I am.

A Real Day of Farm Life

Our mornings begin simply. I make a cup of coffee and prepare breakfast — often with homemade jam, spreads, fresh eggs, honey, butter, and bread.

Then we get dressed together and go to the barn. We milk the cows, feed them, give them water, and a few treats. After that, I move to our small dairy room, where I make cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, butter, and other homemade dairy products.

Next, our ducks and chickens are waiting. We feed them, give them fresh water, and fill their little pool so they can enjoy bathing.

Later, I go to my garden to harvest fresh produce and begin cooking lunch. Often, I also bake bread, prepare a dessert, or make homemade jam.

After lunch, the rest of the day is for family time — playing, riding bikes, going for walks, and simply being together. In the evening, we return to the barn to milk the cows once more, stop by the dairy room, and slowly bring the day to a close.

The most beautiful moment is at the end of the day, when my husband and I sit outside on our wooden bench with a glass of wine, quietly ending the day together.

Raising Children Close to Nature

I want my daughters to learn that modesty is a great virtue. Food should never be wasted, because behind every ingredient there is effort, time, care, and the earth that provides it.

Family always comes first. I want them to understand where food comes from, how to cook, bake, garden, and respect nature — values and skills that will stay with them for life.

Why Cooking From the Garden Brings Me Joy

Cooking brings me indescribable joy, especially when I cook for my family. Walking into my garden, harvesting what we need, and turning it into a meal feels deeply fulfilling.

I believe in a garden-to-table lifestyle. Homegrown food simply cannot be compared to store-bought products — in taste, quality, or meaning. Of course, I still buy essentials like salt and sugar, but living this way helps us save money and live more consciously.

Why I Share This Life

I share my life to show people — especially those living in cities — what countryside living really looks like. Not a perfect picture, but a real one. I enjoy sharing my experiences, my recipes, and everyday farm life.

Family, homegrown food, animals, and the countryside — this is not just how we live, it’s who we are.
